Did you know? In 1962, President Kennedy designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day to honor law enforcement officers who have died or been disabled while on duty. The surrounding week became #NationalPoliceWeek, and I’m proud to keep honoring it this year and every year.

This week is #NationalPoliceWeek—a time to honor the service and sacrifice of law enforcement, including the brave men and women protecting Long Island every day. We remember those who gave their lives in the line of duty and stand with their families and fellow officers.
