This trend underscores the need for supportive measures to assist the children + families affected by such losses.

According to the JAMA Journal of Psychiatry, about 321,566 children in the U.S. lost a parent to drug overdose between 2011-21, highlighting a significant increase over the decade.

The program focuses on increasing foundational literacy skills and English Language proficiency for students in grades 3-5 who are identified as English Language Learners (ELL).
