I like DnD
But DnD has done a lot of damage to the perception of dragons.
"Actually that's a wyvern" ☝️🤓
"Actually that's a drake" ☝️🤓
"Actually that's a wir- ☝️🤓
What we can talk about here is how toothless is designed with a "realistic" philosophy where every detail of its design is thought out so that it makes sense to fly, and that when it loses part of its tail it can no longer do so, and so it lives in the same world as the gronckle.
@Gagaegral
I think I’d agree normally but for HTTYD I always sort of saw it as a storybook quality, like something straight out of an old exaggerated book. That could also just be bias
If this implies that this is a new adaptation of the book instead of being a live action of the dreamworks franchise, my interest in this movie increases a lot
The live-action ‘HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON’ remake will be its “own film, and its own interpretation.”
“It’s like, let’s not try & just do a play by play of that. If anyone wants that, they can watch the animated ones.”

Anguirus, The fierce Dragon
An armored Kaiju that retracts its body and takes the shape of a ball in order to roll over its enemies. It can also shoot the osteoderms on its back as missiles, but they take several minutes to regenerate, so it uses them sparingly
I don't share any to twitter for reasons, but that's the way it is, fakemon design.
It bothers me when someone uses fakemon to ridicucilize new designs.
Rodan, the fire demon
Under the thorny scales of his body there are glandular orifices that allow him to expel the atomic energy of his body, this helps him to make his calorific attacks and fly at high speeds.
Liskaizar
This dragon is a lindworm that lives in swamps and mangroves, stalking its prey from the dark waters. It has surprisingly fast reflexes, being able to pull half its body out of the water and dive back in just a few seconds, (+)

Yakoolpan
It lurks in the depths of lagoons and deep rivers, when it spots prey it propels itself with its tail at high speed to catch it, this is the same method it uses to take off. When it feels threatened, it shoots a jet of boiling water that electrocutes its rival.

It expels the heat and residues in the form of smoke through holes in its back that connect to the "smelting chamber".
Mezeoborr

Tremorasel
"When the sky trembles it is a sign of its arrival, the beast that covers the light of the stars with the flapping of its wings, marked with thousands of eyes that watch the earth, the winged death"
I'm not kidding, people who are interested in TTRPG's like D&D, Pathfinder etc etc, but don't know how to draw, consider the free demo of Dragon's Dogma 2 Character creator & Storage as an option, it's on Steam and has a wide range of options to create characters!
Gigan the cyborg monster

Vastrayogg
"It lives near lakes, where it spends much of its time. This huge dragon can uproot trees and destroy rocks when it charges at full power. When it does this, its body is heated by its flames and expels waste through its nose. Despite its appearance, it is herbivorous."
Redesign of the Yannrokh, I wanted to update it because over time my way of designing Drojkar dragons has changed slightly and I wanted to have the flagship dragon updated 🧐
Grinadugol
"A ferocious dragon that, unlike other species, has developed a distinctive breath, a charged slime that shoots at high pressure and electrocutes its prey.
You'd better not be its target as this dragon is very fast, reaching you before you've even started to run."

Zankaraluga
"It lives deep in the colossal forests. It uses its silk to create pegasus traps, perfect for trapping all kinds of unsuspecting creatures. Once it has its prey trapped, it uses its saliva to dissolve it. This can also be used as a flaming projectile."
I want to give my ghidora design a classic classic wing design, but I like the idea of it walking like a pterosaur/wyverno, so I've thought about the idea of each finger of the wing being more like a tentacle or a leg that retracts when it walks on the ground.
Abislaton
"In the northern seas inhabits a leviathan of more than 50 meters. It is easy to see when it comes to the surface to breathe, as a large smoke begins to rise from the water, produced by the remains of its igneous shots. It has been seen flooding boats very easily."
Rinapanak
"In this cold world it's not all giant creatures. This small nocturnal dragon flies over the taiga looking for insects and small animals. Its breath, unlike other dragons, does not combine both shots in a single flare"
