Cracking down on fentanyl. Arresting criminal illegal immigrants. Giving more resources to local law enforcement. As a former cop, these are just some of the ways I am working to make #CO08 a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.

The headlines say it all. Democrats blocked the bill to keep America open. Now they’re to blame for the shutdown. That’s not leadership — that’s politics at the expense of the American people.

Even the media knows a government shutdown is the Democrats’ fault 👀

Republicans are working to keep the government open and America running. Democrats are threatening a shutdown because we won’t fund their extreme priorities like taxpayer funded benefits for illegal immigrants. That’s unacceptable.

The Colorado Crime Crisis is a self-inflicted catastrophe brought on by Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies and anti-police rhetoric.

Democrats are trying to force taxpayers to foot the bill for free healthcare for illegal immigrants. We believe in better healthcare — Republicans gave $200 billion for healthcare in the Working Families Tax Cut. We just want that money to go to Americans first.

Democrats are ready to shut down the government and deny services to seniors, veterans, and children because they want more of your money for illegal immigrants. That’s a nonstarter - American money should be going to Americans.

There needs to be a serious discussion about the dangerous rhetoric coming from the Left. We are Americans first and we must condemn language that incites violence.

Let me be clear: if the government shuts down, it is a direct reflection of the Democrats unwillingness to fight for Americans. They are choosing political games over people's paychecks.

When a government shutdown was looming while I was fighting in the Global War on Terror, it was hard to get parts for our aircraft. If the Democrats shut down the government this week, they’re putting our troops’ readiness on the line.
