In DT today we got to make fruit kebabs based on our designs from last week. Our surfaces were cleaned, hair was tied back & hands were washed. 🧼 We demonstrated some great skills using the bridge method for chopping too! 🍎 🍇🍊🍍 Great work Year 1. 👏 @G_M_P_S @MET_STSS

Art today was based on the ‘Maman’ spider sculpture by Louise Bourgeois.🕷️This was as a whole class collaborative project using our paper shaping skills to create ‘Dolly’ our very own 3D spider sculpture! @G_M_P_S @kapowprimary #GMPSART

We’re learning how Christians follow the golden rule of treating others how they would like to be treated. We read The Rainbow Fish & discussed where the golden rule was before making a recycled bug hotel to show that we care for even the smallest animals. 🐜🕷️🐞 @G_M_P_S #GMPSRE

We have been testing and evaluating different types of fruit in DT this week. Then we chose our four favourites for when we make our fruit kebabs next week. 🍎🍌🍇🍓🍍🍊 @G_M_P_S #GMPSDT

We had some little feathery visitors yesterday afternoon in Year 1… 5 gorgeous baby chicks! 🐥 We were able to have a little hold and learnt about how to look after them. 🐣 @G_M_P_S

We had some help in art this afternoon when creating our 3D tree of life paper sculptures. Stephen, the headteacher from our link school in Tanzania 🇹🇿 came to join us. 👏 We all had such a wonderful afternoon working together! @MET_STSS @G_M_P_S

In English today we followed instructions on how to make Magic Moon Sand which was so much fun! 🌙 🪄 Tomorrow we get to write a recipe ourselves using time connectives and imperative verbs! ⏰ 👍 @G_M_P_S #learningisfun

This week we took our learning outside in science identifying wild and garden plants. 🌱 The children found dog rose, sweet peas, nettles and primrose to name a few. 🌸 @G_M_P_S #gmpsscience @CLOtC

In PSHE we discussed democracy & linked this with our British values.🇬🇧The children then voted to choose an activity. Super understanding of how going with the majority feels & how we don’t always get the desired result but must respect the views of others. @G_M_P_S #gmpspshe
