We need to meet children where they are, guided by what works and by evidence. There are constraints within the public sector, which are the custodians of education, and therefore, to unlock the potential of all children, the role of the non-state sector becomes critical.

Parents are sending children to low-fee private schools because they are losing confidence in the public system. Governments need to do more to enhance public provision of education while also supporting the low-fee private school sector. #collaboration #coordination #partnership.

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister for Education in Ghana, says that Ghana has had a long history of working with non-state actors in education. We are seeing this partnership paying off - where non-state actors have worked longer, learners are performing better on nationalised tests.

In Sierra Leone's education sector plan, we focussed on learning and learning outcomes – the education outcomes fund model, that focussed on outcomes, worked well with our strategic plan that focussed on outcomes. #outcomesmatter #learningfirst #qualityeducation.

Coming out of a civil war, Ebola and Covid, the country had to learn resilience and find creative ways of finding solutions, which led them to be more open to partnerships.
