If #Budget2025 is supposed to be one that is "generational," it is a shame that investing in those who are already here and contributing to Canada's future have been completely overlooked. /fin

Two large studies have been commissioned by the @liberal_party on how to improve and enhance the Canadian research ecosystem, and it is almost as if they were after thoughts deemed irrelevant. Instead #budget2025 seems to focus more on provide tax breaks for industry. 3/

Increasing support to researchers already in Canada by allocating this $1B to tri-council funding and infrastructure would go a VERY long way. Research labs provide training and employment, strengthen innovation, and produce findings that can benefit all Canadians. 2/

Perhaps the devil is in the details, but it's disappointing to know that @MarkJCarney @FP_Champagne would rather budget up to $1B to support and recruit international researchers than to support to talent already in Canada. @ScarpaleggiaLSL @melaniejoly 1/

Exactly this. Why should politicians be exempt from performance criteria? It’s only fair.
@FEDuranceauCAQ Unless remuneration is tied to performance across all public servants, then these negotiations are meaningless. Make us employees with pensions, and we can start talking. Make government officials salaries related to performance, fair enough.

Once again… political spin. It’s plain and simple. There are NOT enough of doctors in the system. Increase the number of doctors and NPs. That is how you ensure sufficient access to care.

This is essentially the CAQ and @cdube_sante throwing in the towel and admitting that they failed at fixing the health system. I guess he didn't "shake" the foundations enough to do anything meaningful. Another example of why we can't have nice things (healthcare).
