Interesting take. I have asked a few coaches & players about the new 8-sec GK rule for NCAA and NWSL leagues. Neither adopted the rule this year due to the timing of the rule so nobody gets called for it. HOWEVER the 6-sec rule still applies and I have yet to see a call🤔🤔

Watching a GK engage in a 1v1 of a field player and reading when to go hands to the ball and smother it instead of blocking or spreading means everything. Too many times the new "candy" technique of block or spreading is not correct but is used in every attempt these days
