#GDM22 | There can be no one-size-fits-all solution, and every festival must make steps to reflect on their impact and write their own Green Charter, which considers the particularity of each event.

#GDM22 | @soy_asia : Currently we are predominantly using carbon footprint, which is a useful but insufficient measurement. The notion of climate shadow allows us to include larger considerations, including the values a festival promotes.

#GDM22 | Véronique Pevtschin : There is a very high level of imprecision when it comes to measuring carbon. The most important thing therefore is for festivals to set short, medium and long-term goals and an agenda based on precisely measurable and comparable values.

#GDM22 | @GuillaumeCalop : I consider culture to be an integral part of ecology, and festivals have the influence to shed light on these topics for visitors. We should not give up on that potential.

#GDM22 | @GuillaumeCalop : Any discussion about the sustainability of festivals has to start with the toughest question: should we even organize film festivals, given the pollution it creates from its activities.

#GDM22 | Our fifth and final day resumes with a panel discussion around the sustainability of film festivals and the footprint of such events, in the company of Veronique Pevtschin of The Greenshot, @soy_asia of @willcoapp and @GuillaumeCalop of @lesarcsfilmfest.
