Yesterday I was notified that
@kielinstitute
ended their contract with me.I thought the big support my story received made them change their mind,but no.I have no regrets in standing by my principles of
#RefuseToFly
. Read why in my piece for

👉
🙏 all people who contacted
@kielinstitute
& supported my case. Their decision ignores that in a digital era one can work from anywhere in the world and in the Anthropocene era every waste of CO2 is morally unjustifiable. Here's a press release👉

Everyone and every capacity needs to make a stand. Thank you for leading the way. I hope each person now asks themselves what can I do in my work place to make a stand? This is everyone’s fight, millions of us need to stand up in unity demanding a stop to new oil and gas.

@kielinstitute

Whilst I admire someone who acts on their property principles I would also support your employers decision. Setting off a number of weeks late and then taking 6 weeks to get back is a major inconvenience for minimal benefit. I would have compromised here if my work mattered to me

I see their point and I committed to return as quickly as possible by low-carbon travel. I offered to take unpaid leave for the duration of the journey and longer. But no,they wanted me in Kiel even if there's absolutely nothing I must do in Kiel I can't do while travelling.

Thank you for your straightforwardness!
Obviously, the Institute does not deserve such a strong personality as you.
Sure new doors will open for you!
All the best for you and stay as you are.
Thank you for your fight for the climate!
