Exciting news! 📚 Capistrano and Desertaire Elementary are 2 of 220 schools nationwide awarded a $5,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries! 🎉 The funds will help update and diversify their library collections.

So proud of my 1st grade teachers and students having fun with the magnificent book from brilliant author illustrator Melissa Sweet. Story is about master puppeteer Tony Sarg, a self-taught immigrant, who invented the first balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Our @GlenCoveElem 🌟 1st grade scholars made connections to the book Balloons Over Broadway. They created their very own balloon floats and showcased them at our campus Thanksgiving Parade. 🦃🎈#ThisIsGlenCove #KeepShining
