To solve hunger in SE Michigan, we need the buy-in from our state and federal governments. That’s where my dear friend, @DrPhil14 steps in. He’s executive director of @FBCM1, and co-host of Food First Michigan on @wjrradio with me. Visit https://t.co/xgDDiiOsb7 to listen.

At @Gleaners, we're lucky to work with Rev. Joan Ross, a beloved, compassionate leader and advocate for Detroit's North End community, which has been affected by disinvestment. She works hard to distribute food to people in her area and is rewarded by helping her community:

Fred Guttman is truly one of our shining stars at @Gleaners. At 160 volunteer hours since last September alone, the time that he has spent at Gleaners has directly led to ending hunger for tens of thousands of people. We couldn't do it without him, so let's hear it for Fred!

At @Gleaners we got request after request for fresh milk, so we worked to increase our milk distribution from 0 to 8 truckloads (or 34,000 gallons) a month. Lawrence Seay tells us how this amazing innovation started from a conversation:
