Rage. The purest form of raw emotion. It manifested as bright green halos in Bruce’s eyes, illuminating them in the darkness. He stood facing the window, hands by his side, fists clenched, on the verge of losing his temper, but intense breathing exercises kept the monster at bay.
It’s not often she’s unnerved; the subtle halo of bright green flickering around his irises manage to do it even still. Something about it is wild in a way she’s never seen up close. She doesn’t usually opt for humor, either, but it’s the best she can manage. “Bad day?”

Thank you, Betty. Sometimes, it’s hard to acknowledge that when you’re tethered to an eight-foot-tall green monster. Having people like you around keeps me whole; I just want you to know that.

Please do. I haven’t slept in days. I hardly feel like myself anymore. Sleep deprivation would’ve killed me already if it wasn’t for the ‘ other guy ’ lurking underneath. And weird? Why would you use that word to describe yourself? You’re the most breathtaking person I know.
