Asked many times last weekend about the kickout and here’s the video that answers the questions. The “Kickout Cage” just constrains the run-up to dial in the technique. Add in pockets, challenges, left and right and kick in towards goal to measure comfortable range. RT 4 keepers

Got to be the daftest rule ever??!!.Twice today already. ✅Kick out: 20 seconds to kick out the ball from when it goes dead. There’s no ball boys, it’s not Wimbledon.🙈.The ball could be over on the corner flag!.And the umpires won’t lift a bloody finger to help!😂.

I’d say exactly the opposite. It’s a profound statement. I’ve a great Leaving, a first class honours degree and a PhD and I’ve give them all back for one more game with Mayo Minor team. It’s one of the great happy memories of my life. The Leaving Cert was one of the worst.
What a horrific statement to make regards an amateur sport. The Leaving Cert is probably the most important test a young person does in there life and is way more of a priority that minor intercounty football

Just catching up today (no power or signal at home). Can’t believe my eyes here, in a televised game. The keeper does nothing wrong, in fact it’s textbook excellent goalkeeping imo. Obs delighted for my County men from Crossmolina but this was cruel on B’derry.

A great kickout tip for GAA Keepers. Watch how Cluxton (he’s left footed) has placed the ball and stepped back to his open side, meaning he doesn’t have to wheel much to put a kickout to his left. It’s a really simple habit every keeper should adopt. Hope this helps you. 👍

A gr8 way I use to give confidence to young keepers is to think of every shot as a TRIANGLE. If the ball is outside the triangle it simply can’t go in. Once you find your “sweet spot” inside the triangle you’ll save EVERY shot. Lots of repetition, gr8 saves & happy faces. 👊

Explaining “diving” to young goalkeepers as distinct from flopping down to save a ball which is the norm. When they ‘flop n stop’ they cover just as far as they can reach. When they understand their leg sequence they can really spring load the dive to cover the entire goal. 🧤
