We saw them together ~1997 at Chastain in Atlanta. Kenny Wayne Shepherd was the early opener, and Tower of Power after that. Then Robert came out. BB roasted the stage that night. Truly amazing performance. Then came the super jam with all of them together. Absolute magic.

If you know us you know that we grew up right down the road from Macon, GA. Allman Bros music has religious meaning for those of us who grew up bending strings in middle Georgia. Dickey was the outlaw in a band of outlaws. I hope he’s jamming with Gregg and Duane right now.
RIP Dickey Betts – not sure what to say. Such a huge loss. Not only for our musical family, but for the world of music in general. Aside from being a huge, major influence on my music from before I picked up a guitar, Dickey was the one person I credit for everything amazing that
