Can you fool a plant into mis-identifying a beneficial symbiont? Yes you can! Check out our new paper where we use comparative transcriptomics to identify bi-functional signalling hubs controlling pathogenesis and mutualism in Eucalyptus. https://t.co/Ni5VshsSlf

It was such a great time a couple weeks ago getting to go to Gulaga Gold Truffles and digging for these amazing fungi as part of the NSW Fungi Feastival!

So rewarding to work with people like @FungiFiend! Here they are presenting their @westsyduhie work supporting the softwood industry showing the impact of nursery/site management on beneficial microbial populations.
Happy to present my first poster! Sharing the importance of nursery management strategies on pine root microbiome resilience 🍄🌲

I got to finally try out single nuclei sorting yesterday - so cool! Now on to single nuclei sequencing 😊

Collab with @rootsofthenorth and Judith Lundberg-Felten to use microdialysis has allowed us new real-time insights into the signals shared between mycorrhizal fungi and their host without physically perturbing the system. Our latest publication https://t.co/Ij7YJNdL9L

After wrestling with a particularly thorny data set for a few days, I just found the gold (ie results that make sense). I think I will log off now and celebrate a little bit 😆

Fungal signalling controlling a robot. Such a great visual way to show how fungi are not 'quiet', but send out all manner of signals into their environment. So we best not annoy them, otherwise they may come to get us 😅

Culturing Pisolithus from sporing bodies riddled with roots and came across this imprint of a mycorrhizal colonised root that was engulfed in the growing stipe. So pretty!
