Super random, but... I copied (by eye, not tracing) this @Japanesehouse album cover in Illustrator. And I was just looking at the tiny version on my tv 😅 Fun exercise. Also... such a goddamn good album.

this works for companies too instead of trying to be a genius and do something new to grow your company, first ask: “what are we doing that’s stupid as hell, that we should just stop doing?”

Current #Project200k update. Invoice total: $162,949 Avg per month: $20,368 Left to hit goal: $37,051 8 months down 4 to go I’ve outsourced less than $2k. But I’ve passed on a lot and sent to my network.

I truly believe that intentional, consistent networking can get any freelance motion designer well beyond the $100k mark.

After Effects keyboard shortcut of the day: Option + ' = turn on/off proportional grid I inherited a project where every comp had proportional grid on and it was driving me nuts to have to click the grid option button then toggle it off.

Yooo… shot an 80 today. Stoked about that. Person best. Under 80 is my end of summer goal. And I was one inch short on my second to last putt… aaaalmost had it! I love this game.

Working in a field for 10, 15, 20 years does not mean you are growing. If you’ve been in motion design for a while, when was the last time you really pushed yourself? Asking myself this question. Client projects have pushed me. But me… pushing me? Idk.
