Last week our team was energized to attend #WHA78, where we joined partners to advocate for sustainable, coordinated financing for #proCHWs. Now more than ever, we must continue investments in CHWs, ensuring that the workforce is strong and supported amid cuts in global aid.

NCDs represent the leading cause of death worldwide. African govts must invest in CHWs, ensuring they're equipped & supported to reduce the burden of NCDs. The 4th Political Declaration on NCDs must prioritize long-term financing for CHWs so no one is left behind in NCD care.

Africa faces a $4.4B community health financing gap, limiting the scale of #proCHWs. At #WHA78, we urge member states to ensure CHWs are at the center of the health financing resolution. Without an investment in CHWs, we will never achieve health for all.

#proCHWs are often the first to detect outbreaks, deliver care, and build trust in communities during crisis. To prevent the next pandemic, we must integrate CHWs into nationally-led and well-financed health systems, ensuring they are equipped, supported and protected. #WHA78
