We were pleased to be quoted in The Telegraph in their article featuring the Listed Places of Worship VAT Grant Scheme which highlighted the issues faced by many churches following the reduction in the scope of the scheme.
It’s good to see @FriendsStJohns quoted in The Telegraph, highlighting the value of the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme, but it’s disappointing that the Govt has decided to cut the overall scheme and cap the benefit to individual churches.

⛪ On the day I held a cross-party debate on the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme, the Government announced an extension of the scheme for one year, which will benefit @FriendsStJohns We're nothing without our heritage and it’s vital that we preserve it.

⛪️ The Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme must continue beyond March 2025 so historic churches like @FriendsStJohns can benefit. That's why I raised the future of the scheme and the Save our Spire at St Johns Appeal in the House of Commons.

We're super excited about our Cake & Coffee Concert and @heritageopenday at St John's on Saturday 14th September. We'll be joined by the team from @AvoncroftMuseum and @STEMLearningUK Ambassadors. Plus the tower will be open from 12 to 2pm to climb and ring the bells🔔
