Exciting news! CA Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 997 which requires student participation in the LCAP process. We believe that EVERY California public school student should have access to arts and music education. Including student voices in this process will be transformative.

"Insufficient funding and a lack of training for teachers remain the biggest barriers to providing excellent arts education throughout the state." The report also shows that schools are still failing to meet the state's art education mandate.

Ukraine’s Shchedryk Children Choir recently performed Carol of the Bells, by Mykola Leontovych, at Cargenie Hall, where the song came to the US a hundred years ago. This classic holiday song is now a song for survival, a testament to the power of music.

Our Executive Director, Allison Cagley, shared her excitement for the passage of Prop 28! “With only one in five California public schools having a full-time arts or music program, voting #Yeson28 was vital for the survival of arts education."
