Thanks for checking out FMR! We'll be a bit less active on this platform into the foreseeable future as we decide how to navigate some of its recent policy changes and decisions. Find us elsewhere at FriendsMissRiv, and sign up for our email newsletterπŸ‘‡ https://t.co/qBziWPE1Zz

A photo gallery from our behind-the-scenes tour at @ForeverGreenUMN. Nearly 50 River Guardians got to see #CleanWater crops up close and hear directly from researchers. They also sampled #Kernza products from Artisan Naan Bakery and @bangbrewing. https://t.co/8BCQ3bqfjN

And Beth Dooley (@dooleys_kitchen), in today's Star Tribune, writes about why the "nutritious and good-tasting" #Kernza is a great choice for a meal β€” either as part of a school lunch, or at home. https://t.co/kZHBE6Bhhh

#Kernza is on the menu for @MPS_News today. As part of the district's Minnesota Thursday program, students and staff will be treated to a school lunch featuring Minnesota-sourced ingredients. That includes a Kernza Perennial Grain and brown rice pilaf.

We're thrilled to see #MRRRI introduced in the House and Senate today by @BettyMcCollum04 and @SenatorBaldwin. "The river has been facing a range of big challenges that frankly, we're not measuring up against," FMR's Whitney Clark told @madeline_heim. https://t.co/gq74jy2C1P

Supporters say the bill, if passed this time around, could be "transformative" for the river, which is facing a slew of environmental challenges.

β€œThis is an opportunity to turn bare, unused cropland acres into powerful engines for a healthier environment and economy,” said Trevor Russell, water program director at FMR and a lead author on the report. β€œI call it a win-win.” https://t.co/1iCeKEn5xp

I've been writing a lot about nitrate contamination lately, so I decided to look at one potential pathway toward cleaner water and healthier soil: tackling the "big brown spot" by keeping fields planted with continuous living cover crops.

We expected St. Paul's promising draft MRCCA ordinance to quickly move toward adoption. Instead it has stalled out, with little explanation from city leaders β€”Β and consequences already being seen. https://t.co/otTwryZjXP

#Kernza products are flying off the shelves, including: - Tattersall's 100% Kernza whiskey - The @LongTableCakes Kernza pancake/waffle mix - @perennialpantry Kernza crackers But if these are temporarily sold out, there are still plenty of treats to try: https://t.co/4MAaFE8iic
