From my understanding, this changes the app you access it from and the algorithm that serves you content. So, while it’s probably going to suck ass after the change, you’ll still have your regular TikTok account, followers/following, monetization status, etc.
TikTok will launch a new app specifically for U.S. users called ‘M2’ on September 5th ahead of a potential sale. The current version will shut down by March 2026 & users will need to download the new version to keep accessing TikTok.
