THE Place For FreeBSD Ports
FreeBSD-land
Joined May 2009
Database upgrade is underway The website entered into maintenance mode at about 18:25:21 UTC on Saturday April 13. I suspect this will take at least two hours, but I’m really not sure. In the meantime, please use https://t.co/HYM0890qat instead. Thanks.

This is done.
The main server is being updated from #FreeBSD 14.2 to FreeBSD 14.3 - commit processing has been disabled for the duration.

I started running short on disk space for the non-production @FreshPorts hosts. This time, I've decided to ask for donations. https://t.co/CRKOqhhfhm Which means my Patreon account has been activated.

Anubis has been implemented on https://t.co/i1HZZUC58e More work is required. For example, exceptions will be made for newsfeeds.
This is why I'm going to try Anubis ( https://t.co/PdFfnHkDy6) on @FreshPorts The database CPU is usually at about 7% for weeks at a time. Then some decides to do this. That's one IP address taking the database server from zero to 100% for 8 hours.

The news feed page[s] were not laid out well. Two pages, disjointed information, hard to figure out how to use the optional parameters... Thankfully, someone told me. The new page is ready for your review. Please see the last comment: https://t.co/sS9n23i9ac

I'm trying to get a list of the newest ports. I've checked out this page although my RSS reader newsraft complains about the following: https://www.FreshPorts.org/backend/html.php?flavor=ne...

I've started moving more @FreshPorts subversion repos into GitHub - the website code has been there for years. The backend code is next. Some of that is now online. If you want to help convert something, see https://t.co/dySy0cWTYW for the first conversion. #FreeBSD

Take https://svn.freshports.org/viewvc.cgi/freshports-1/periodics/ and convert it to git

On this chilly sunny Saturday morning (while I'm on-call for $WORK), I'm going to finish off the work behind these two recent blog posts. That pseudo-code referred to in the first post has been written. Time to review and test. https://t.co/iOQL8ENpdX

I've found out why new categories aren't working. https://t.co/wQts1oSdDO There will be another blog post coming, because there's more code to work through and fix.

There’s a new category in town: filesystems There’s a bug I’m tracking down. The new ports are all there in the database but the category itself did not get created. A blog post will soon appear at

I upgraded the test host, and broke commit processing. The git commit processing moule has been updated because of breaking changes in devel/py-pygit2 - nothing too big. Mostly search & replace. blog post: https://t.co/a6QqZUyL0v the commit:

As you can also see on @freshports: syslog-ng version 4.8.1 is now available in #FreeBSD ports: https://t.co/sO0xX6C2HB It is primarily a bug fix release, focusing on platform support. Which means that #MQTT support in @sngose now also works on @freebsd.
