Free Minds member Antoine came home in 2023 under DC’s Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act (IRAA) after serving 22 years behind bars. He has since worked at a housing program supporting people in recovery and used the power of storytelling to promote hope and healing.

At Free Minds, we have seen the transformative impact that DC laws like the Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act/Second Look (IRAA) and Youth Rehabilitation Act (YRA) have had. Free Minds member James came home in 2019 under IRAA after 30 years. He now serves as a youth mentor.
