2025 is our 16th year making the legal sector better, and we have about 35 projects planned and prioritized. Among them:.- Scanning and data improvements for case law.- AI summaries, categorization, and semantic search.- Enhancements to alerts.- A new design for CourtListener.5/6.

We have over half a billion records in CourtListener, sent over 2.5 million emails last year, and we get more than 40,000 visitors on CourtListener every day. 4/6.

A few successes from 2024:.- A new search engine for case law and RECAP.- An upgraded RECAP now supports Edge.- The beginnings of an eFiling system.- New branding and a swag store.- Case law got much better.- New and better APIs.- Seven conference presentations. 3/6.

Before we get into it, here's a fact from the report: If you print out RECAP and lay it end to end, it'd go all the way around the planet. Another fact: If you stacked RECAP, it'd be 1.5× taller than Everest. Yes, RECAP is longer than the equator and taller than Everest. 2/6.

To our API users, the new search engine is going live slowly, as an extra precaution. We promised it'd swap over yesterday, but to blunt any issues, 10% of requests will use it starting today, 25% tomorrow, 50% on Thurs, and 100% on Fri. One last opportunity to catch things!.
