I told a friend with full confidence a few months ago that M3GAN 2.0 would be a box office hit. More proof that nobody - myself included - knows anything in this industry. M3GAN has been presented to us as a horror icon, but these numbers suggest that may have been premature. .

Haven't seen M3GAN 2.0 so I can't comment on whether or not it's any good but it was marketed from the beginning as being a big budget Terminator 2-style action/sci-fi movie. Nobody should be going into that movie expecting a scary doll horror movie.

Counterpoint: Movies like #JurassicWorld are largely review proof. The reviews don't matter much at all. Jurassic World Dominion made $1 billion. I don't know that anyone who wants to take the family to see a Jurassic movie is going to care that people on Twitter are cold on it.
