Please take a few minutes to watch one my most important speeches👇🏼 I was SHOCKED. The Libs spoke AGAINST a bill requiring consecutive sentences for sex offences. Do we protect victims or not? Do we punish sex offences or not? We should all be pissed at this approach. Watch👇🏼

Stop telling survivors to accept leniency for the people who destroyed their lives. C-246 makes sense b/c consecutive sentencing is accountability. If that makes some people uncomfortable, good. Every excuse in the book gets used to soften sentences for sexual assault. Enough.

I’m in the HOC, listening to Liberals spew drivel about why sex offences SHOULDN’T result in consecutive sentences for each victim. This is shameful AND wrong in law. I seconded this bill for my friend and colleague @RachaelThomasAB who put forth this Private Member’s Bill.

BREAKING After accusing Conservatives of holding up Bill C-9, the Liberals just cancelled today's Justice Committee meeting, in which we could have finished clause-by-clause review of the bill. The Liberals are obstructing their own legislative agenda -- including bail reform.

We are less than an hour from voting on my Private Member’s Bill C-225 - also known as Bailey’s Law after Bailey McCourt - who was viciously murdered hours after her former intimate partner was convicted of beating her. Thanks to Bailey’s family for their support. Let’s pass it!
