Nothing else matters. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt amongst us”

Nigerian Catholics are some of the most wonderful Catholics I have met… the so called “Christian West” has ignored their plight for far too long.

“the monastic and contemplative life is routinely attacked by those at the highest echelons of the Church, and a mediocre episcopal caste of stale administrators oversees decline whilst recurrently insisting that some new catechetical programme will solve the problem”

A wonderful day in Lincoln with three of my former Catholic students from Nottingham University… all three of whom are training to be Catholic priests! (God is good)!

Great to have Rhys up for a visit. Rhys started Nottingham Uni as a student the same year I was appointed Chaplain… he was a baptised, non practising Catholic. He got Confirmed, then ended up the president of CathSoc, and has now started formation for the Priesthood.

Of course this all starts when we forget that Cathedrals are sacred buildings set apart for God, and allow them to be used as secular “venues” (even for tasteful “classical “ concerts). It’s a downward slide. @CBCEW @nottscathedral
Just when you think the Church of England couldn’t descend any further… Canterbury Cathedral is literally graffitiing itself and celebrating it as art

One of the few Anglican theologians that actually still speaks sense..(mostly) 😁
The desecration of Canterbury Cathedral with graffiti is horrendous. The idea that this helps the poor and marginalised is a prime example of liberal metrosexual delusion. Christianity needs to have done with such pseudo-radicalism. It’s already so yesterday in any case.

Ok.. so it was built to reflect the beauty of God, you think it represents the vanity of men. Here’s a deal, give it back to the Catholic Church who built it with a purpose that we still understand, and buy a car park for your graffiti art installations. Then we are all happy!
@FrDavidPalmer @irenemariejoy Each temporary sticker is a question that commonly was asked by young Christians in a community project run by the Cathedral. The building is not the essence of Christianity - it reflects the vanity of men. The essence of Christianity is the work that happens inside.

Well this is just one more reason English Catholics should be dubious of English nationalists (rather than genuine patriots)… they can be historically illiterate…
