ArtistFeature: Bradford Scott Stringfield "I’ve practiced photography, writing, and painting my whole life, since I was a child. I intend to create beauty. As Stevie Wonder said: "it’s not a hit until you get up and dance!"

#ArtistFeature: Suzette Lehrer "While my thematic focus of portraiture remains the same, this body of work introduces a new color: blue. My love for blue stems back to childhood, when I made a little blue pot that I adored. Reminiscent of the ocean, blue calms me."

#ArtistFeature: Angela Rogers "I’ve been making 'Poppets' since 2012, after I had brain surgery. Before this, I was primarily a painter and performer. After surgery, I started to wrap sticks as a form of meditation, and they began to speak to me and became figurative."

#ArtistFeature: Tom Schneider "I do not paint traditional 'pretty' paintings, but works that have a specific message, like all artwork requires. My approach uniquely incorporates both painting and sculpture in each piece I create."

#ArtistFeature: Vermillion Vermillion is a make-something-out-of-nothing artist. Her textile art, collages, and assemblages have developed as of late into installations that have an underlying social or political message but also fulfill a need for playfulness, and humor.

#ArtistFeature: Boo Lynn Walsh "[Fountain House Studio] offered —for the first time in my life —a dedicated working studio space! This opportunity has been both inspiring and humbling, allowing me to explore my practice with newfound focus and freedom."

For Fountain House Gallery’s 25th Anniversary, we’re going into the archive and sharing some of our history. Today, we’re hearing from Jason Bowman, former director and current advisory board member, on the early days of the gallery. Stay tuned for more for in the weeks to come.

#ArtistFeature: Maxx Reith "My work is mainly about human emotion and movement. I find the human body beautiful without clothing; I like showing muscles flexed and contracted in movement. Life is theater and that's what I try to capture through expression and movement."

#ArtistFeature: Roger Jones "This body of work introduces toy cars. The cars remind me of riding around when I was younger. I was in my own world then, looking at the houses and people around me. This was an escape from reality."

#ArtistFeature: Guiomar Giraldo-Baron "I come to the Fountain House Studio to experiment and explore ideas. These works are the result of that process.The reds and oranges are in my repertoire because I grew up next to a beach, and sunsets were a part of my life."
