1/2 Leeds Woodland Creation At Roundhay Park we are planning to plant approximately 61 standard trees (larger trees approximately 6 to 8ft tall). This will help plug the gaps along Princes Avenue where it is believed the travellers are still able to gain access.

We’re aware of the BGA algae in the lake. The Council and the Environment Agency are aware. Please keep your dogs out of the water; blue green algae can be fatal for dogs. Canoe sessions are on hold.

Saturday's working party was back at the upper lake. They cleared Ram Beck grids, tidied the stumpery & the fence line overlooking the beck inlet into the lake, & removed nettles along the edge of the path. Then some well- deserved coffee & biscuits! Thanks all

Saturday's working party volunteers spent their time wrestling mud! Lots of hard work clearing the grids and stream in Fox Wood. Fortunately there were lots of tea and biscuits as a reward! Thanks everyone

Our volunteers were extra busy last week! On Tue a small team replaced part of the sensory garden pathway edging. On Thur they were in the upper lake stumpery clearing space for new ferns & clearing the grids. Then on to weed the rhododendron bed by the tram carpark. Phew!

Thanks for an excellent litter picking session yesterday. Good to welcome the girls from the Al-Kauthar Academy. Great turnout and a good haul. We collected about 35 bags collected in total.

Saturday's working party continued with work from last year, trying to keep the brambles and sycamores down on the upper lakeside up to the pontoon deck. A lovely day for some satisfying work 🌞

2/2 trying to clear the football pitches for the weekend & will address the rest of the stuff next. A few hours of collaborative action have done a lot to improve a very distressing situation. Unfortunately the tree that has had its bark stripped is likely to be felled.
