My project manager told me, “You should do mobile app design.” And yes, I've taken her advice In the next 30 days, I’ll be pushing myself into something I’ve never done before: a full end-to-end design challenge. I'm bit scared, I want you all to support me on this 😒💜 #UI

Every great designs start with sketching and mindmapping whether done with pen and paper or digital app. That is where you solve the real problem not by jumbing into Figma. ....and this my day 6 of building student housing #productdesigner #UIUXDesign

Just like I always say… ...Every great app, every successful product, starts with ideation. You dont just jump to Figma and start designing. Your ability to think creatively, explore different solutions, and generate ideas that prioritize users need while still align....

This is why founders shouldn’t just look for a designer. Look for someone who can think and solve the real problem. I'm Focus, your product designer

They help you go check it physically and give you honest feedback, and they get a little token for helping out. It reduces risk. It increases trust. And it bridges the gap between distance and transparency. Brilliant, right?

That question stuck with me for hours, and it opened my eyes to a gap I didn’t even notice at first. So I created a solution: PEER CHECK A feature that recommends someone living within a 2km radius of the house you’re interested in.

While building this student housing app, someone asked me a question that made me pause, rethink, and go straight back to my drawing board: > “What if I’m not in school… and I still don’t trust doing video calls only with agents or landlords?”

But here’s the truth: you’re not the only one who will use it. Your audience, their pains, their frustrations, their expectations, will always determine whether your product succeeds or fails. And that’s why listening is not optional. It’s your superpower.

Founder, listen up, you’re not the real owner of your app. The real owners are… your users. Good morning, and welcome to Day 4 of me building a student housing app. Yes, you funded the idea. Yes, you pitched it to investors. Yes, you care deeply about the product. A thread~

A Journey Map helps us visualize how users attempt to reach their goals, their actions, their feelings, their thoughts, and the overall experience. From there, we uncover the real problems and opportunities to solve them.

and that is where the User Journey Map comes in. Think of it like traveling from Lagos to Abuja. Your goal is to arrive in Abuja, but along the way, you encounter different scenarios, emotions, challenges, and decisions.

I’ve heard many founders complain that their product didn’t drive the right engagement. But when I take a closer look, the problem isn’t the UI or the designer’s skill… The real issue is lack of understanding of the users and their current struggles.
