Here are pictures to show a short update on the progress of the Mamaka Project. The rains have been more normal this year and the rice harvest looks promising. Cassava will be harvested when we get the Processing Center completed.

The need is for $35,000 (800,000 New Leones) to convert and outfit the building to an environment conducive to learning and deliver even more educational benefit to the children of Mondema. Help us raise money for this wonderful project by donating through FoSL on our website.

This effort created the successful Passion for Learning Initiative (PLI) which involves a traveling teacher going to school to school, teaching reading through phonics – something entirely missing in the existing educational system. PLI is governed by a local Board of leaders.
