Cooperative learning and team work: my students discuss and analyze the chronological order of a realistic fiction passage.

As an engagement and motivational tool, my students build a theater during their lesson about Drama/ play. They take 10-12 mins. During the week to work with their teams. They really enjoyed it!

Use of cognates in Spanish and English to develop vocabulary in English: students match cognates in both languages using a in a t-chart. They get awareness of this linguistic advantage and they use their mother language to Learn another one!

Students decide what is important and what is no to take to a picnic. They sort the items they would take to a picnic. This activity is an introductory activity to teach main idea.
