We just had the most amazing rain storm come across the fence in South Lincs. I very quickly tried to do it justice.

We get some beautiful sunsets here in Lincolnshire. They’re terrible things to paint but every now and then we give it a go.

Filling the sketchbook with local Fenland scenes this week, and loving the process.

The two minutes silence on this day reduces me to a gibbering wreck, so rather than inflict myself on others I take the dog down one of the lanes. Here we were at 11am. The painting and the photograph.

An afternoon well spent painting a few Christmas cards. No I don’t hand paint all my cards but I do like to do it for a few distant friends.

This photographed quite bold so I toned it down with a filter, now I think I like the original best. To the river. First light.

When I haven’t painted for a while I always start again with water. We had burst banks and flooding a couple of years ago here in the Lincolnshire Fens so I’ve taken inspiration from that. The morning washes.

A fab six exposure image of a Curlew flapping across the sky by Barry Yates

There’s quite a variety of apples revealing them selves in the hedgerows, and a carpet of acorns crunches underfoot. I know everyone is saying it but I’ve never seen so many.

What I love about autumn is the dappled light and the way the shadows fall across the lanes. The low sun makes everything so mellow. Leaves and berries hang like jewels against a cobalt sky, and it’s a balmy 17 degrees this morning.

It's so hard to ask for help but right now I have to hold my hands up. I've got lots of lovely cards, prints and some originals on my website and etsy. Some shares to help get some sales no matter how small I would be so grateful.

Prussian blue at SkegVegas. Skegness beach is actually the most wonderful place for a sunset walk.

Got new rollers. Let’s see what comes of this.
