From all of us at the Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities, we want to wish everyone a safe, wonderful and happy holiday season! Our office is closed through January 2 for the holidays, but we will be back open Monday, January 5.

As the Fall semester draws to a close, we want to take a moment to say "Job Well Done" on a successful semester. From new programs accepting their first cohort of students, to students enrolling in college for the first time, this has been an amazing semester!

With the recent approval of a new FPCTP at Gadsden Technical College, we now have 37 approved programs across the state: * 8 universities * 9 state colleges * 20 technical colleges

This is the season to reflect and be thankful. We are so thankful for our partnerships with institutions of higher education, program coordinators/directors and leaders at FPCTPs, and our students and completers. Our office is closed today through Friday for the holiday.

The Unique Professionals program at Pinellas Technical College is expanding with a second program at the Clearwater campus! We are excited to see the PTC UP program expanding and providing more opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities to attend college.

On Monday, Project STAGE at Indian River State College hosted its inaugural Unified Sports kickball game - the first state college to launch Unified Sports, a program that brings athletes with and without intellectual disabilities together: https://t.co/ofWHqee1da

All approved FPCTPs are required to follow up with completers for 5 years. This year, 256 out of 329 completers were followed up with, of which 164 replied that they were currently working. That accounts for 64% of completers. #NDEAM

Yesterday, the Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities spoke before the House Subcommittee on Education Administration about the impact of Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Programs (FPCTPs) for students with an intellectual disability.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awarness Month, which began in 1945 as a weeklong national observance of the contributions of people with physical disabilities. #NDEAM #NDEAM25
