Today, our middle school Band students celebrated an amazing pie sale with “pie a director”. Prizes were: 25-34 pies sold- choose Barkan/Brunckhart 35-49 pies- Smith 50 pies- choose 2 Directors! We had 15 shaving pies thrown today!

It’s 3:04 am- lined up in Herald Square for the TV run through!

Happy Thanksgiving! Getting ready to wake up the kids to head to Herald Square!

Dr. Rick Good, director of bands at @AuburnU, and the director of the Macy’s Great American Band is addressing the band at the conclusion of our last rehearsal before Herald square at 3am! Blake, Izzy and Violet will step off at 9 am, and should be on @nbc around 10!

After a long rehearsal, the kids got to see Times Square, herald square (complete with camera platform) and the Empire State Building.

Day one: breakfast Cruise with amazing skylines, the Statue of Liberty, Six on broadway, and time in Chelsea market. We will finish the day with a 4 hour music rehearsal.

Uniforms are hung, hats are sorted, chaperones are briefed- 2025 Macy’s Great American Marching Band…COMMENCE!

We are all checked in to the airport and ready for the trip of a lifetime! We will keep you updated what time to watch NBC Thursday.

Spent the day at Pickerington HS with educators from around the state. Pretty cool opportunity to learn about a way to teach guitar, bass, drumset and keys in a large group setting. Amazing opportunity made possible by OMEA.
