Pegula stan talking about slam winners IJBOL . Emma has been playing well these past few weeks, wins over Osaka, Vondrousova, etc. but she loses to Rybakina now you wanna talk about 4 years ago? MOVE.
This beatdown from an elite player after Raducanu beat 2 ITF players in the first 2 rounds easily just shows that she would have never won US Open 2021 if she faced any good player. Yes you can only beat who’s in front of you but that was the weakest run to a Slam this decade.

If you told me she lost in straight sets to Rybakina with some good tennis I honestly wouldn’t mind because this is a work in progress every week she’s improving…. But she’s not, what we saw in Wimbledon/Washington/Cinci/Canada was so much better than this, very disappointing.

Not to take anything away from Elena though who is playing well, ish. 49% 1st serves in, numerous DFs, 16 UEs and she’s about to double breadstick us so…. maybe not.

Playing some of her best tennis for the first time in years and doing so consistently tournament after tournament but now we’re up against Rybakina we just give up and play like an ITF player . Against the world number 1 we fought and fought, this is just sad.
