8 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗚𝗢 “Teachers need to either stop complaining or quit!” 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗡𝗢𝗪 Teachers have left the profession at record rates. America is currently short 400,000+ teachers and it’s only getting worse. NOW WHAT?

My home insurance rate •Up 21% and I didn’t make a claim My auto insurance rate •Up 14% and I didn’t make a claim My health insurance premium •Up 24% and I only used it for my annual physical 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚 2% 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞. 🤔😐😔

Trade schools have never been more important. We pushed “college for all” while starving skilled trades and now we’re paying for it. High wages. Real skills. Immediate demand.

Not to brag, but this teacher has enough money to not work the rest of 2025! 💪🎉😜

When schools require teachers to offer retakes & accept late work, they ALSO need to provide teachers the extra time those requirements take.

It’s simple… Phones don’t belong in classrooms or hallways. Kids aren’t responsible enough to resist the temptation. Phones distract, disrupt, and undermine learning.

When a state addresses its teacher shortage by lowering the standards to become a teacher, rather than focusing on making teaching a more sustainable and respected career, it signals a HUGE problem!

The real teacher shortage? It’s not bodies…it’s the willingness to stay in a profession where expectations keep rising and support keeps dropping.

More than ever, most U.S. public schools need to shift from being “college prep” to “career prep.” The majority of students won’t follow a traditional college path and they deserve a system that prepares them for real-world success.

Schools exist to support families, not replace parents. That means parents need to actually parent, and the govt & communities need to stop treating schools as the fix for bad parenting. If you’re an educator who thinks otherwise, you’ve watched too many teacher hero movies.

No classroom in America should have more than 20 students.

Schools spend hours trying to “reach” the kid who openly doesn’t care, while the kid who tries every day quietly gets ignored. We’re exhausting ourselves chasing resistance instead of investing in effort.

“You have such an easy job!” “You get to go home at 3!” “You get summers off!” “You have so many breaks during the year!” If it’s so great, why does America currently have the biggest teaching shortage in U.S. history?

Reflecting on my 20+ years as a teacher, a recurring theme stands out… American schools often take on too much. Schools shouldn’t be considered the lone solution for society’s ills. And many who believe this are teachers! And when you take on too much, failure is inevitable.

If you think the solution to education is the right politics, think again. I had a Democratic governor & president…nothing changed. Then a Republican governor & president…still nothing. Meanwhile, public schools kept falling apart. Neither side wants to solve the real

We don’t blame doctors when some patients won’t do what it takes to improve their health. So why do we blame teachers when some students won’t do what it takes to learn?

Did You Know? 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗺 has doubled from 15% pre-COVID to over 30% now. 𝗜𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 50%. 😳 This is the “silent crisis” that explains a huge chunk of the academic drop.

In the last 15 years, we’ve molded a school system where the students who follow the rules get the least attention…because all the energy goes into managing the ones who don’t.

A mother discovers her son was bullying an autistic boy. This was her reaction. I applaud her heart and she was likely mortified in the moment, but just wish she gave a little more direction. Having said that, parenting is just so difficult to do well every single day.
