With thanks to a convenient failure of 150246, A HST on their last day in service was drafted in to cover the last few Newquay services. 43189/GW06/43156 at Newquay prior to working 2P97 2122 Newquay to Plymouth - 13/12/25 They thought it was all over, it is now. @Clinnick1

What a fabulous send off to the HST at Plymouth...3 of the 4 sets in service all lined up ready to head to Laira depot for one last time. Plymouth welcomed its first HST on 10 April 1977. Tonight it will wave goodbye to its last when the 4th set finishes just before midnight.

And that really is that... the final GWR HST at Bodmin Parkway this evening, 2P97 2122 Newquay to Plymouth, 43156/GW06/43189. End of an era.

So, after nearly 50 years BRs stopgap train is finally coming to an end in England. Such a shame but they've done a mighty fine job. Shame their replacements aren't ready in time with GWR shortforming other services to cover the lack of HSTs and 175s!

Thank God...
The temporary 30mph speed limit on the A30 to St Austell Link Road has now been lifted. Restrictions had been in place since the road opened in July while crews completed work on and near the carriageway.
