In an emergency - every second counts. Fire hydrants that are blocked, concealed, or difficult to access due to snow or ice impede emergency fire response. It is important to clear hydrants of snow/ice and clear a wide enough perimeter to walk around (3 feet). #KeepThemClear

Most fatal fires occur from November to January. A smoke alarm is more than a sound; it's a lifeline in a fire. When it's missing, damaged/disabled, the consequences can be fatal. Ensure you have working smoke alarms in your home this holiday season. #12DaysOfHolidayFireSafety

After a winter storm or snowfall, be sure to clear your gas meter! Gently use a broom or soft brush to remove snow/ice - never use sharp objects, a shovel or a blower on the natural gas meter and vents. Avoid hitting and kicking the natural gas meter and vents. #FireSafety
