Six of our firefighters recently attained their Emergency Services Driving Standard (ESDS) Level 3, an RSA-accredited qualification for emergency service staff who, by law, can drive using blue lights and sirens in emergency response situations.

Eighteen firefighters across Cavan are taking part in a series of three-day chainsaw refresher training courses this month. 18 firefighters will have their skills refreshed ahead of the winter season.

Stradone Street in Ballyjamesduff is currently closed to traffic as we are dealing with a fire at a premises at that location. The fire is currently under control, but motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area for the present.

The N3 is currently temporarily closed at New Inns while Ballyjamesduff fire brigade attends to a van fire near Sheridan’s Garage. Some delays are to be expected and motorists are advised to avoid the area for the present.
