And you also won’t pay for utilities at the rental property, despite agreeing in writing you would, so I’ve paid double bills all throughout the winter with no hope of reimbursement. I've been a loyal customer for years, and I'm disgusted.

Not only that, but you are wasting over £3k pm for me to live in rental accommodation. I’ve been here six months now while absolutely nothing has been done to protect my home, besides me leaving the heating on over the winter, which you have now said you won’t pay for.

How can this be a sensible and realistic figure to do all that work in 2024, in the midst of a cost of living crisis, where construction and materials costs have been spiralling out of control?

Especially, when you told me to use a contractor that would use Howden’s or Wickes and Howden’s quote came in at over £7k? It cost me £3600 to pay for just the kitchen and flooring in November 2000.

Apparently, it is possible to strip out and replace the kitchen, appliances, ceiling, tiling, flooring, and to treat mould, install dryers and redecorate for £2800 plus VAT. How? How???

frankly, mostly because your contractors have been unable to produce a sensible Schedule of Works, forgetting mould treatment or repairs for the massive hole in the kitchen ceiling, for example. But the latest quote really takes the biscuit.

In the last 9 months, absolutely NOTHING has been done to improve the state of my kitchen. No drying. No mould treatment. The damp has continued to spread. We’ve been back and forth about costs, just for stripping the kitchen out. There have been constant delays,

Last July, I filed a claim after an escape of water from a pipe in my kitchen ceiling. Your contractors cancelled their appointment to inspect, and I was told I could find another company to quote for the work. I did as suggested, just to get things sorted out quickly.

And since this will take 2-3 months to sort out, which will add another £10k to those accommodation costs. Almost £50k spent on alternative accommodation that we wouldn’t have needed AT ALL to try and save around £1500. Tell me in what universe this makes sense?

We are currently going back and forth over £1-2k. Last November, we moved out of our house into alternative accommodation. We have now been there 5 months. My kitchen is still in the same state it was last July. However, the insurers are racking up INSANE costs…

It’s now been 9 months since I filed my claim and NOTHING has been done to my kitchen - no mould treatment, no drying. I have 4 quotes from different companies to strip out my kitchen and deal with damp/mould but the insurers continue to quibble over costs.

This is how ridiculous insurance companies are. Last July, I had a water leak in my kitchen which left it damp and mouldy. The insurer’s contractors cancelled their appointment to come an inspect, but the insurers told me I could find another company to quote, so I did.

Have decided to document my reads for 2023/24. Finally got round to this - a gripping and heartbreaking read with so many twists and turns. I was highly invested in the lives of its characters. @FionaLucasBooks #readingschools #readingforpleasure
