A candle will burn in the cathedral all day as we remember all who have died and suffered as a result of COVID. Prayers will be said and the cathedral is open for people to light a candle and leave prayers of their own @LeedsCofE @yorkshirepost @BBCYork @RiponDean @engcathedrals

We were very pleased to welcome several hundred people to the cathedral as the State Funeral of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II took place. Thank you to our bellringers, who rang the bells, fully muffled, for an hour ahead of the funeral @engcathedrals @BBCYork @RiponDean

The first jubilee I recall was 1977. It involved chopper envy (the bike 🚴🏼 darlings) crisp butties (Rancheros…forerunner of beef monster munch) and now it’s aubergine 🍆 (the vegetable darlings) saffron yogurt n @ChapelDownWines down rose. Times change.
