You’re not going to fix the problem of $300 weekend tickets in one year after a bad race. You need to rebuild the trust with the fans, and a good race is the best way to start. IndyCar is in charge of this race, not Iowas Speedway (aka NASCAR). It’s in Penske’s hands.

Losing Iowa again would be completely idiotic for IndyCar. Yes, last year’s race sucked but largely due to the repave. It has been the best overall oval in the series since 2007. Do something different to make it succeed. Pair it with Knoxville somehow? Promote a new format?.
Fewer than 6,000 tickets have been sold for each day of @IndyCar’s Iowa weekend. As NASCAR has had back-to-back sellouts, IndyCar has undergone major changes to its weekend on & off the track. “You feel that intensity that this is a make-or-break year.”

I don’t know why it irks me so much (actually, I do) when @IndyCarOnFOX says #IndyCar has 3 types of circuits - ovals, road & street. To the day I die, I will beat the drum that if you separate street from road courses, then you must also separate short ovals from super speedways.

That’s an awful crash and seriously sucks for @FRosenqvist to be blind-sided but I think Felix being in Louis’ way saved Foster from a catastrophic crash in the T3 runoff, even worse than it still was.

I've admittedly been away from the Twitter Machine for a few days. Can someone give me the Cliff notes version of the uproar that followed Shwartzman being named #Indy500 Rookie of the Year but not being the highest finishing rookie? You know, like the uproar Alonso and JJ got?.

This is fantastic for the #indy500!. The unfortunate reality is, however, new viewers who are now interested get Detroit next. Sure would be nice to head back to Milwaukee or Iowa next week.

Is it just me or did we hear almost NOTHING about the hybrid system yesterday? After it was crammed down our throats endlessly during qualifying by both Fox and the IMS PA, I never heard it even mentioned during the race yesterday by either and totally forgot it until now.

They were fully within their rights where they were and never tried to defend their position (never even needed to). But I really wish they weren’t there as it took away any chance Ericsson or Malukas had to mount a charge. Not their “fault” though. #Indy500.
If you were new to racing watching the #Indy500, how did you feel about the two cars leading the field trying to stay on lead lap? Were you confused the race for win was between the cars on track in the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions?.

Catching up with the @IndyCarOnFOX #Indy500 show this morning. They absolutely knocked it out of the park! But even though I knew how every Tom Rinaldi piece goes, that Liz & @12WillPower piece needed a warning label. So well done.
