Our new study findings on payments disparities faced by female surgeons in the U.S: Among 5505 payments made in 2023, 87% of $23.9M in consulting fees went to men and 37 men received royalties compared to just 1 woman. 🔗: https://t.co/zFhuh9u0jG #genderequity #womeninsurgery

A study published in @AmJSurgery found that female surgeons consistently receive lower consulting fees than men, even after accounting for experience and specialty. Systemic change is needed to ensure equitable pay. Read more: https://t.co/KGn2ZhG9K9 #WomenInSurgery

Honored to present our work on the burden of firearm injuries in children in Rio de Janeiro at the #ACSCC2025. Advocacy in trauma care is advocacy for life, every statistic represents a child who deserves safety and access to timely surgical care. #GlobalSurgery #TraumaSurgery

#AWS2025 @WomenSurgeons Only 14% women chairs. This is why I work so hard so someday I’ll be able to be part of this group.

@DesertTraumaMom @WomenSurgeons Unfortunately there are very accomplished women surgeons who had worked beyond hard and the chair position has been pulled from underneath just to be replaced by less accomplished individuals. We need to change the system and politics that enable such injustices

Knife + wire saves lives. Every hour matters: early angioembolization cut nonop failure by 30% and halved mortality in blunt solid organ injury over 9 years. IR isn’t an adjunct it’s essential trauma care. Thanks @JSurgRes for highlighting
