I got to sit down to try the Gundam Card Game earlier this month and had an overall stellar experience. If there is one game that I'm particularly excited to see, this is it, and I have to recommend it immediately.

The Devastation of Baal- Guy Haley A fun introduction to the Blood Angels, working as solid propaganda for the faction with interesting villains in the Tyranids. Khorne’s favorite marines are a trip in irony and I love good Vampire fiction, so this scratches many itches.

Objectively wrong. Introducing people into the format they’ll actually be playing (especially with simplified decks) is ideal, and Commander also ads a board game-like experience and the resonant personalization of the Commander itself. No need to push other forms of play.

The Realm gathers once more! SorceryCon 2026 is coming to Indianapolis, February 19–22, four days of Sorcery played the way it was meant to be: together. Championship play. Side events. Cosplay. Artists. Learn-to-play tables. Stories shared across the table. And the creator of

Sorcerers, the Gothic x TCGplayer sweepstakes closes tomorrow at 11:59pm ET! If you haven’t entered yet, now’s the time. Two Gothic booster boxes, Prophets of Doom decks, the Void playmat, a $100 gift card… and yes, even a full Alpha booster box. Don’t miss the ritual!
The world of Sorcery: Contested Realm just got a bit more sinister and a whole lot bigger. Gothic is out now and our sweepstakes is the perfect way to get your hands on the new set. Jason's got all the details 💀 Jason Grabher-Meyer https://t.co/rMJ3TH2CwR

Gloomspite- Andy Clark A canny combination of legitimate horror mixed with a classic Seven Samurai style mercenary work in desperate defiance of that horror. The goblins and their supernaturally squirming, virulent, and fungal weapons of war make for a delightfully dark time.

Titanicus- Dan Abnett The rare example of a combat-centric read that I absolutely adored, mixing well-described battlefield scenarios with smaller, slice-of-life sequences that made this longer read a breeze to burn through. First Abnett read, will not be the last, easy to rec.

King of the Spoil- Jonathan D Beer I enjoyed my last read from Beer and like Warhammer Crime, so the combination seemed solid. It was an entrancing read overall, but presented a highly nihilistic perspective that ended on a sour note. Also more sequel baiting, so wait on this.

Rites of Passage- Mike Brooks Brooks is still winning, with his novel moving Navigator politics with a touch of mystery and good ol’ Chaos Cult shenanigans. We get a look at a rarely touched on part of the Imperium and wrap it up nicely with Brook’s usual excellent style. Rec’d.

The Relentless Dead - Steve Lyons A fun mix of war story and horror that explores the unique mindset of the Krieg. Ultimately not as spooky as I wanted and with the bog standard “it was chaos all along” plot contrivance not hugely exciting, but still an enjoyable enough read.

Dropsite Massacre- John French The first two acts are excellent, showing the events leading up to the book’s namesake. Unfortunately the final act whiffs, giving us nothing new about the event itself really and even highlighting some uninspiring Alpha Legion nonsense. Skippable.

Flesh and Steel- Guy Haley Another winner for the Warhammer Crime subgenre and Guy Haley’s best (you can really tell when he isn’t just writing by the numbers). A solid buddy-cop, noir story set within the perfect back drop of an Imperial hive city. Formulaic, but in a good way.

Konrad Curze: The Night Haunter - Guy Haley While occasionally wallowing in grim dark detail (one can only be even vaguely entertained by corpse mutilation) a satisfying look into the mad mind of a post-human Primarch. Understanding that madness makes for a curious read indeed.

The Remnant Blade- Mike Vincent Suffers a bit from living in the shadow of Dembski-Bowden’s Night Lord trilogy, was still a fun read. It wades deep in the waters of Chaos Marine politics and does a cool job showing all the elements of Void combat. Good read for Night Lord fans.

Tomb World - Jonathan D Beer A highly satisfying read for Necron fans and likely the best actual introduction to the faction. A solid mix of a look at the alien culture and the horror they elicit in humanity, with only slightly too much time devoted to the latter. Recommended.
