Students in the Transportation SHSM and automotive classes toured local businesses to learn about various careers and pathways in the transportation industry. Thank you to all the businesses that welcomed them and took time out of their busy schedules to share their experiences!

Students from the French program spent Friday taking in the sites & sounds of Montreal. They visited animals at the Biodome, practiced their speaking skills by ordering lunch in French, walked around historic old Montreal, & attended a performance of Cirque du Soleil's "Echo"!

Grade 10 students in science this semester had an opportunity to travel to Ottawa and tour the Museum of Science and Technology (as well as LaserMaxx) to learn about optics, climate change, and technological advancements through history. A great time was had by all!

Last Friday, students from the FHS French program, with some help from Mr. Walker's automotive class, held a car wash to collect funds for their upcoming trip to Montreal. Thank you very much to the kind, generous, and very patient people who helped make this event successful!

Students in the Arts & Culture and Hospitality & Tourism SHSM programs at FHS toured Toronto recently, taking in a Mervish theatre production, a Medieval Times show, the Museum of Illusions, Graffiti Alley, & a trip up the CN Tower! A great experiential learning opportunity!

Thank you to Mr. Hammel's construction class for continuing to reshape the courtyard at FHS. This area will be home to an outdoor classroom and learning space for our students, allowing them to get some fresh air while they learn. A great experiential learning opportunity!

Congrats to our boys' basketball team as they grab their first win at the EOSSAA Championships. The boys move to a record of 1-1.

Our senior boys' basketball team just won the County Championship for the 7th time in the past 8 seasons! Congratulations to the boys and the coaching staff for their dedication & hard work. The team will be competing in the @theEOSSAA AA Championships next week in Smith Falls!

Congratulations to our senior girls' volleyball team who won the Renfrew County Championship yesterday. Best of luck to the girls as they compete in the AA @theEOSSAA championships in Kingston next week!

Next Wednesday, the varsity boys' hockey team is scheduled to face off against the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment. Members of the public are invited to attend this free event that brings youth and police together for an afternoon of hockey and friendly competition!

It's the season for giving and gratitude, and these qualities were on display yesterday at the mall. Ms. Trish and FHS students volunteered their time to run the Kiwanis Christmas Kettle. For two hours they collected gifts and thanked the community for donations. Great stuff!

FHS gave back to their local community by raising money & purchasing gifts for 30 people through the Angel Tree Program. This charitable exercise saw the athletic council work with the Bernadette McCann House and local shelters to help brighten the holiday season for others.

Thank you to Murphy Ford in Pembroke for sending some of our students to a Raptors' game after they spent the day touring the @UofT campus. This was a great opportunity for our senior @Fellowesbball team and our Health and Wellness SHSM students.
