When the project began, teachers recorded students’ attention levels. A year later, they noticed a clear, positive uptick in both, after funded meals were introduced. It’s a simple but powerful finding: when children aren’t hungry, they can concentrate better on learning.

Affordable Food Clubs thrive as places of connection and community. By removing stigma, creating safe spaces, and offering support beyond just food, they are able to help tackle some of the drivers of poverty and help members move away from dependency on emergency food aid.
