Ab-Soul was always theoretically the best lyricist on TDE, however his catalogue never reflected it. Control System is a classic but nothing after matched it.

Watch the Throne is one of the most overrated rap albums of all time. Half decent, have snooze fest. Kanye made it listenable but Jay did not step up (which is ironic because Kanye fell off after but Jay put out great stuff like 4:44)

Good album but Under Pressure, No Pressure, Vinyl Days and Ultra 85 are better.

I really need Ab-Soul to drop a “Control System”-level album again. His output since has been solid, but he hasn’t come close to his magnum opus yet. I really hope he delivers on his next album.
