Lydia Kaiser, a student shot in the head during the Annunciation Catholic School attack in Minneapolis, shared that recovery is hard and she’s angry. Please pray for her, the two children killed, the wounded, their families, and the school community. Lord, have mercy.

Lord, keep us through the night hours. Guard us from unseen terrors and quiet our restless hearts. Be our light when shadows fall.

12/12 “And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword” (Ex 17:13). The sword was real, yet the victory was God’s. Tonight, stand beneath the lifted hands of Jesus. Stand beside a brother or sister whose arms are heavy. Pray until the sun goes down.

11/12 Let this scene reshape how you see the Church. We do not win by noise or rage. We win by faith working through love, by shoulders under weight, by the slow courage of prayer. “Our help is in the name of the Lord” (Ps 124:8).

10/12 Take this into your week. Name the Amalek in front of you, not with bravado, with honest humility. Ask for helpers. Become one. Set times to pray. Keep your hands lifted in your heart when you work and drive and wait. Small fidelities open great victories.

9/12 Christ now perfects what Moses prefigured. “He ever liveth to make intercession” for us (Heb 7:25). When your prayer falters, His does not. When your knees shake, His mercy stands. Our hope is anchored in the One who prays us home.

8/12 Do not miss God’s pedagogy. He does not hand Israel new weapons. He hands them a posture. Lifted hands, steadfast hearts, shared burdens. The Lord is teaching them to trust Him more than the sword in their grip.

7/12 Intercession is not a feeling, it is fidelity. When you grow tired, sit on the stone of promise. Let another hold your arms. When they grow tired, you take a side. This is communion lived, charity with sleeves rolled up.

6/12 They also saw the Church here. Joshua contends, Moses intercedes, Aaron and Hur sustain. One body, many tasks, one Lord. Your hidden prayer upholds another’s visible struggle. “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands” (1 Tim 2:8).

5/12 The Fathers read this as a figure of the Cross. Moses’ outstretched arms point to Christ’s arms stretched wide on Calvary, where the true enemy is defeated. In the shadow of that wood we fight every battle. “Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory” (1 Cor 15:57).

4/12 “But Moses’ hands were heavy” (Ex 17:12). Even holy work grows hard. Aaron and Hur set a stone for him to sit on, and they hold up his hands, one on each side, “and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.” Grace often arrives as faithful friends.

3/12 “When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed” (Ex 17:11). Scripture gives a stark image. Prayer rises, the people gain ground. Prayer droops, the enemy presses. This is the drama of intercession.

2/12 Moses tells Joshua, “Choose us out men,” while he himself climbs the hill with “the rod of God” in his hand (Ex 17:9). Two paths, one obedience. Some are sent into the fray, some are sent to pray. Both belong to the Lord.

1/12 🧵 Tonight’s first reading is Exodus 17:8–13. Walk with me into Rephidim. Israel is weary, fresh from thirst and quarrel, and “then came Amalek, and fought with Israel” (Ex 17:8). Into fear and dust, God teaches His people how victory is won.

The Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master,

So many of you are being driven into racism and religious bigotry by influencers who twist half-truths to make you despise entire peoples. They are not righteous guides. This is grave sin and soul-destroying. Do not let hate claim your soul. God help us.

1/15 🧵 Who is Abraham? Billions across Judaism, Christianity, and Islam call him their father in faith. His story begins in ancient Mesopotamia, yet it still shapes the world today. Let’s walk together through his remarkable life.

Hail Mary, full of grace. Swing those beads all over the place. Swing 'em high, swing 'em low. Swing 'em, Mary, go, go, go! Is praying to Mary biblical?
